Crazy Man Forge, waffle maker handle

I had bought my wife some cast iron pans and a waffle maker from a old shop. They are for wood burning stoves. The waffle maker has a spur to lift it but no handle to attach to it. The handle for the iron plate of a wood burning stove turns out to have a hole too large for the spur.
I need to go to the shop/forge and make the handle shape it and punch the right hole in it.
